“Antonov” Told About How and When the “Mriya” Will Be Restored

Restoration of the flagship requires a large amount of calculation and design work, purchase of necessary components, testing. The press service of the “Antonov” plant told the plans to restore the flagship of Ukrainian aviation, the largest aircraft in the world – An-225 “Mriya” (trasl. – “Dream”), which was destroyed by rashists during the shelling of “Kyiv-Antonov-2” airfield in Gostomel.

Restoring the “Mriya” is a very important task for world aviation. The company notes that they have some basic units for the aircraft. However, the new “Mriya” must meet modern and promising standards of flight accessories and be equipped in accordance with the tasks it will perform.

For this plant requires a large amount of design and engineering work, selection and purchase of appropriate components, to conduct a test program. This project will be implemented in international cooperation, with the participation of leading companies and enterprises of the global aviation industry.

The amount of funding and the possibility of using An-225 components will be determined by a special commission set up under the auspices of Ukroboronprom. Sources of funding will be determined by the state. All the money already in the fund will be used exclusively for the implementation of the project “Mriya”.

It is too early to talk about deadlines, as the program needs careful elaboration.
