President of the French Organization “Yahad-In Unum” Visited Irpin
Patrick Debois, president of the French organization Yahad-In Unum and a priest of the Roman Catholic Church, visited Irpin. This was announced by the Secretary of the Irpin City Council Angela Makeyeva on her Facebook page.
It has become known that Yahad-In Unum has carefully researched and documented the genocide and other mass crimes committed by the Nazis during World War II for 20 years.
Angela Makeyeva noted that “after the liberation of Irpin from the Russian occupiers, 290 bodies of civilians were found in the city. Of these, 161 people, 73 women, 1 child and 53 human remains. Mass killings, torture and rape of civilians, including children, are an act of genocide against the Ukrainian people. ”
“With the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Father Debua, together with Yahad-In Unum, is implementing the Russian War Crimes “Investigation Project: Gathering Evidence”. The project is being implemented in collaboration with the non-governmental organization Holocaust Memorial Center “Babyn Yar”, where Debua is the chairman of the Academic Council. I thank Father Debois for his personal visit to Irpin and for supporting our people in such a difficult time. Every occupier who killed, tortured, raped and committed all those atrocities will be found and punished”, Makeyeva concluded.
We will remind, on June 7 the Irpin mayor Oleksandr Markushyn met with the Ambassador of Ukraine to France Vadym Omelchenko.
Urgent and important messages about the Russian-Ukrainian war and other events in the city and Irpin region can be found on our Facebook page and in the Telegram channel.
