Rashists Shot the Eye of Nicholas the Wonderworker at the Icon in the Irpin Church
Today the faithful celebrate St. Nicholas Day. This holiday is celebrated twice a year: in winter on December 19 and in spring on May 22. The Feast of St. Nicholas is celebrated in the spring in memory of the transfer of the relics of St. Nicholas to the city of Bari in Italy.
During the occupation of Irpin, the rashists destroyed 71% of the city, did not spare even the holy places. The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker at the State Tax University was also shelled. For entertainment, the occupiers shot the eye of Nicholas the Wonderworker, at one of the icons of the temple. This was announced by the rector of the church, Father Andrii Klyushev.
“Putin is definitely crazy… His so-called protection of the UOC in Ukraine leads to the opposite consequences. We had to explain to our Buryats that shooting St. Nicholas in the eye is not the best idea”, Andrii Klyushev wrote, emphasizing that “our community voted to join the Orthodox Church of Ukraine”.
It will be recalled that the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker at the State Tax University has been transferred to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. This decision was made at a meeting of the church community.
