The Chairman of the Supreme Court Vsevolod Knyazev visited Irpin and Borodyanka and got acquainted with the condition of the court premises. This was reported in the press service of the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is necessary to resume the work of courts in the territories liberated from Russian troops as soon as possible\u201d, said Supreme Court Chief Vsevolod Knyazev during a working visit to court premises in Irpin and Borodyanka, Kyiv region, yesterday, April 13, 2022. Together with the head of the Supreme Court, the condition of the buildings of the local courts was inspected by Oleksiy Salnikov, Head of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine, Valery Bondar, Head of the Judicial Protection Service, and Serhiy Vlasenko, People’s Deputy of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
As noted, the building of the Irpin City Court of Kyiv region withstood the pressure of the occupying forces and suffered uncritical damage: windows were broken in some places, some organizational equipment disappeared. Eliminating these minor (compared to other court buildings) shortcomings will help restore the work of the court in the shortest possible time. But the two-story building of the Borodyanka district court of Kyiv region was completely destroyed as a result of shelling by the Russian army. To restore the work of this court, you need to find new premises. And this task is not easy, because Borodyanka is one of the most affected towns at the hands of the Russian occupiers. Therefore, the search for potential premises for the needs of the court continues.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey can destroy temples of justice, but neither bullets nor bombs can stop justice. After all, justice is first and foremost the people who administer it and the people who need it. Living this, without exaggeration, the most dramatic period of our independent history, the judiciary, like all of Ukraine, faces unprecedented challenges. But the truth is that today we are united as never before. Therefore, a full recovery of all courts is only a matter of time. We must now focus on resuming the courts in the territories liberated from the invasion of Russian invaders. And despite the fact that this task is not easy, because the choice of surviving buildings in which the court can be “relocated” is extremely limited, we will cope with it\u201d, Vsevolod Knyazev is convinced.<\/p>\n
