The Prime Minister of Portugal Antonio Costa Visited Irpin, He Was Very Impressed By What He Saw
The Prime Minister of Portugal Antonio Costa arrived in Ukraine at the invitation of Prime Minister Denys Shmygal and visited Irpin. This was announced by Antonio Costa in his Twitter.
The Portuguese prime minister began his visit with a visit to Irpin, saying he would “not forget” his trip there. “The levels of destruction and violence are absolutely devastating. I witnessed brutal, arbitrary and unjustified attacks. War always affects innocent people. Families with livelihoods, jobs, and neighborhoods were forced to give up trying to save their lives. I am most impressed by the violence against civilians”, said the Portuguese Prime Minister.
The head of the Portuguese government stated that his visit was a sign of solidarity with Ukraine and its people. “We condemn Russia’s barbaric invasion. Portugal supports Ukraine”, Costa said.
It will be recalled that earlier the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Maria Peichinovich-Burich also stated that she would never forget Borodyanka and Irpin, where the Russian occupiers killed civilians. And the atrocities of Russia and its army in Ukraine confirm that the decision to expel Russia from the Council of Europe was the right one.
