The Former Mayor of Irpin Thanked Foreign Partners for Their Help

Former Mayor of Irpin Volodymyr Karplyuk thanked foreign partners for their help. He wrote about this on his Facebook page.

Volodymyr Karplyuk told about aid from Germany – the city of Borna, where Irpin residents were resettled and allowed to study in schools, Irpin residents were evacuated and humanitarian aid was transferred. Also, a fundraising account was created for Irpin families.

“Invaluable help was provided by Irpin’s brothers from Germany. The city of Borna has already used all possible resources to resettle the people of Irpin and teach children in city schools. I thank the Mayor of Borna, Ms. Simone Luedtke, for the initiative and assistance in organizing the evacuation of Irpin families and for the humanitarian aid and the creation of a separate fundraising account for Irpin families”, Kaplyuk wrote.

The city was also assisted by Poland and Lithuania, who have received and sheltered more than 200 Irpin women and children and are helping with humanitarian aid.

“A strong hand of support was extended to the people of Irpin by the sister cities of Pisz (thanks to Andrzej Szymborski) from Poland and two sister cities from Lithuania – the city of Panevezys (thanks to Vitalijus Satkevičius) and the Alytus district (thanks to Algirdas Vrubliauskas). In these cities, more than two hundred Irpin women and children have found refuge, and the Alytus team is preparing to hand over an ambulance as humanitarian aid, which is a very valuable support for us”, he wrote.

Irpin was also helped by Ukrainian brothers who help with humanitarian aid and accommodation for the people of Irpin.

“The village of Kotsyubynske and the town of Pereyaslav near Kyiv have also become a support in humanitarian issues for the Irpin community and offer Irpin residents the opportunity to live safely. Thank you, Serhiy Danish”, Karplyuk wrote.

As it became known, the Georgian city of Mtskheta, led by დიმიტრი ზურაბიშვილი / Dimitri Zurabishvili, organized a fundraiser for Irpin as part of a nationwide action.

It is reported that the Alborai brothers from Spain, namely the Juntos Por La Vida Foundation, are also helping not only the Irpin community, but have so far managed to evacuate more than 1,500 Ukrainian refugees to Spain whom they met at the Ukrainian-Polish border.

“I appeal to the twin cities of Irpin and ask to create, following the example of the city of Milwaukee and Borne, official funds to raise funds for the reconstruction of the city of Irpin. Your support is more important to us today than ever. I believe that with the efforts of the international community we will revive Irpin and protect it from the humanitarian crisis”, the former mayor of Irpin concluded.

It will be recalled that the city of Milwaukee has set up a Cavalier Johnson fundraising fund for Irpin.
