European Commissioner Janez Lenarčič Visited Irpin

European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Janez Lenarčič visited Irpin. This was announced by the Secretary of the Irpin City Council Angela Makeyeva on her Facebook page.

“Together with the First Deputy Mayor Andriy Kravchuk, they showed our 11th line, the world-famous “Irpinski Lypky” Residential Complex, which was completely destroyed by the occupiers, and showed our fire brigade and our “Bridge of Life” in the village of Romanivka. More than 40,000 of our citizens were evacuated across this bridge. The explosion of the bridge meant that the occupiers would not have a direct road to the capital. After the explosion, we realized one more thing that Irpin will take the brunt. We persevered and became the shield of the capital, but at what cost… We thank Mr. Janez for the visit to our city and for the thorough conversation about helping Irpin”, Makeyeva said.

It will be recalled that the president of the French organization “Yahad-In Unum”, a priest of the Roman Catholic Church Patrick Debois, recently visited Irpin.
