In Front of a Young Son: Chechens Shot a Young Couple from Irpin (video)

The family of the murdered couple near Kyiv plans to sue to find Russian war criminals who shot a civilian car near the village Mriya. A young father and mother were killed by enemy bullets in front of their young son. The video from the drone published by the German TV channel ZDF was shot on March 7.

The footage shows cars of a group of civilians moving from the west (in the direction of Mriya). At one point, the column came under fire on the right side of the road, where you can see a Russian tank with the inscription V.

An unarmed man gets out of the car with his hands up and falls in an instant. His wife, son and godmother of his son were in the car with him. His wife also died as a result of the shelling: she managed to cover her six-year-old son with her body.

What is known about the family

It turned out that the killed man and his family were trying to evacuate from Irpin. In ten days, the young couple Maksym and Ksenia Iovenko were to celebrate the husband’s 32nd birthday.

The father of the deceased Maksym spoke to journalists anonymously. The man told what his son’s last words were. “After the shots, the car stalled. He (Maksym – Ed.) opened the door, got out of the car, raised his hands and started shouting that there was a child in the car so that they wouldn’t shoot”, the man said.

After the shooting, Chechen soldiers dragged the dead man from the car, and his young son and godmother were taken to a gas station under the barrels of machine guns, and later to a pit outside the gas station. After standing there for several minutes, the terrorists released a woman with a child.

The six-year-old boy is currently in a safe place. His godmother is in hospital with injuries and psychological disorder.

What will happen next

According to reporter Arndt Hinzel, there is enough evidence that these were Chechen soldiers.

“We do not know exactly who shot the man, but the shots were fired from the spot where the enemy tank was standing”, the reporter said.

The German journalist states that the Russian soldiers understood that the killed driver and his wife did not pose any danger to them, and it was obvious that they were civilians moving in a column, they just wanted to leave the city. On the windshield of the car was an inscription on paper – CHILDREN.

It is now known that the family of the victims will prepare a lawsuit over the fact that it was recorded by a military drone. The video has already been verified.
