Volodymyr Zelensky Visited the Liberated Bucha and Irpin
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky visited the liberated city of Bucha, where the brutal atrocities of the Russian army were revealed. He inspected the road with destroyed Russian equipment and talked to locals. The president reiterated that the Russians had committed war crimes and genocide in Bucha.
Asked by a journalist if he still considered possible to discuss peace with Russia, he said: “Yes, because Ukraine must get peace. We are in 21st century Europe. We will continue our diplomatic and military efforts”.
In his Telegram, Zelensky added that the Ukrainian authorities will do everything possible to bring the cities of Kyiv region back to life as soon as possible.
It will be recalled that the Kyiv region, along with Bucha, Irpin and Gostomel, was liberated from the Russian occupiers on April 2. After that, Ukraine and the whole world learned about the shocking events in Bucha – the occupiers tortured and shot people, raped women, killed children. Bucha Mayor Anatoliy Fedoruk said that 280 people were buried in mass graves in the city.
Zelensky himself spoke about the events in Bucha in his address. At the same time, the Russian Defense Ministry does not recognize the atrocities of its military in Bucha.
