Life Will Win Death: A New Family Was Born in Deoccupied Irpin, The First Since the Beginning of a Full-Scale War

On April 24, 2022, a new Ukrainian family was born in Irpin, liberated from the occupiers. This is the first couple of residents of the Irpin community who have united their destinies since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. The ceremony took place in front of the Irpin City Council with the participation of Irpin Mayor Oleksandr Markushyn and servicemen of the 243rd Territorial Defense Battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who took the oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people and received awards on this day. Residents of Irpen were also present there.

The editorial board of the Irpin Visnyk spoke with the newlyweds and asked about the story of love, which is stronger than any war and was able to combine two destinies, regardless of the circumstances.

“We met back in 2017, in 2020 Maxym proposed to me, but the wedding never took place”, says the bride Anna. – “We planned to get married in June, because my birthday is on 12.12, and Maxym’s on 12.09 and we wanted our family’s birthday to be 12.06 and war came to our country… From the first day Maxym started defending our Ukraine, he enlisted in the territorial defense of Irpin. I visited our city for a few days, and then, when the occupiers began to attack Irpin more and more, my beloved sent me to Lviv. And from March 5 to April 16 I was in Lviv”, Anna said.

According to the girl, when Irpin and neighboring Bucha, Vorzel and Gostomel were liberated from the occupiers, and the city became safer, Maxym wrote to her that she can come to her hometown for a few days to see the condition of housing and take the necessary things.

“I replied that if I come, we are getting married, because I will not go to Lviv single anymore. That’s what happened (laughs). We were blessed by the neighbors from our house in the residential complex “Fortuna-2” Victor Ivanovich, who, like my father, even calls me “daughter” and neighbor Lyudmyla Oleksandrivna, she is an academician and we, the for residents of the house she is a mentor, we all learn from her a little bit. That’s how we went to the square” the woman recalled.

The bride admitted that getting married in the central square of the city with the participation of such guests and the mayor is exciting, but she was determined. “I stood and thought that this damn war will not mess up with me and it will still be as I want and as we need”, – admits the bride Anna and adds that now they are on honeymoon, Maxym was released for a few days, and seriously think about the birth of new Ukrainians. Because life will defeat death!

At the same time, the happy groom Maxym smiles and does not comment on anything, because happiness loves silence.

Congratulations newlyweds! Life will definitely defeat death, and the world will overcome darkness!
