We Were Forced to Steal Fuel from the Enemy to Make Oxygen Generators Work: Anton Dovgopol About the Coronavirus in the Region

The residents of the Irpin region continue to suffer from coronavirus. Although it seems that the occupation forced it out of the region, and the war finally destroyed it because even the foreign media do not pay attention to this topic. However, the Irpin Central City Hospital in Bucha had oxygen-dependent patients until the last day of its functioning. This was stated by Anton Dovgopol – the chief doctor of the medical institution.

“Have you noticed that even the foreign media do not write about coronavirus? Everything is dedicated to the Russian-Ukrainian war. Until the last day of the functioning of our medical institution under occupation, we had 50 Covid patients who needed oxygen. Just imagine, the chief doctor treats patients, deals with current issues, and negotiate with occupiers by day; and steals the enemy’s fuel to support the functioning of oxygen generators by night” – states Anton Dovgopol.

According to him, the patients are fine, some have recovered and are out of the hospital, and others were evacuated to the Kyiv Regional Clinical Hospital.

We wrote before that during the 17 days of the hospital’s occupation, Anton Dovgopol had to be both a military doctor and a military chaplain. Together with his colleagues, he buried 67 Ukrainians who died in the Russian-Ukrainian war in a mass grave.
