Aid to Irpin Was Discussed in Brussels
A meeting was held in Brussels with Georg Ziegler, Deputy Head of the Support Group for Ukraine at the European Commission, regarding assistance to Irpin. This was announced by the chairman of the Irpin Investment Council Volodymyr Karplyuk in Telegram.
“Our second working meeting in Brussels today is with the Deputy Chairman of the Support Group of Ukraine in the European Commission Georg Ziegler”, Karplyuk said.
He noted that during the meeting they discussed issues of assistance to Irpin residents who have lost their homes and “passed on presentations of our destroyed facilities and contacts of the coordinators of the main directions for the reconstruction of Irpin”.
“It was also said that it is important not to waste time on bureaucratic moments and get direct support to Irpin. For example, we have high-rise buildings where the roof and top floor were destroyed. If we quickly restore such facilities for a small amount of money for European budgets, it will mean a quick return to the homes of hundreds of families. We also explained the importance of restoring schools, kindergartens and clinics. This is a critical infrastructure that will bring our Irpin residents back to our city, and Europe will save its money, which will not have to spend on migrants. On the agenda is the need for maximum support for Irpin and assistance in rebuilding the city destroyed by the rashists. We continue to work”, Volodymyr Karplyuk summed up.
We will remind, today also Oleksandr Markushyn and Volodymyr Karplyuk met in Brussels with the representative of Ukraine at the European Union Vsevolod Chentsov.
